@smokey Bingo. Well done! Confirmed by the plaque in front of the cage. This was from a visit to Squam Lakes Natural Science Center.
@fgtech I figured if those tufts didn’t make it a great horned owl, I didn’t know what would 😉
The closest I have come to seeing an owl in person is a shadowy blob sailing in front of me, followed shortly thereafter by the call of a barred owl.
